Sharon Grant M.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons)
Sharon Grant M.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons) (GDC: 113979)
Sharon Grant is a Dental Therapist (BSc Hons, Manchester 2007) with over 30 years' experience in the dental industry and is the Centre Manager at Delta Dental Training. As well as obtaining many dental qualifications while working as a dental nurse, she completed her Certificate in Education, along with the A1 Assessor Award and Internal Verifier awards and has recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Dental Education at the University of Bedfordshire to maintain updated teaching skills. She is also a member of the NEBDN Radiography committee.
Sharon's area of special interest is radiation protection and all aspects of dental radiography. Sharon completed her MSc in Dental and MaxilloFacial Radiology from Kings College, London and has also been awarded a Professional Certificate in Radiation Safety (pass with merit) from University College, Dublin. She has also undertaken training in CBCT techniques.
Sharon is the course tutor for the online Certificate in Dental Radiography and the online CBCT Programme, and the internal moderator for the Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing course.
Lauren Walker (GDC: 227105)
Lauren first started her Dental Nursing career in 2010, gaining her City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing in 2012. Lauren has worked as a dental nurse in general practice until October 2016, when she then moved to working in a Specialist Orthodontic Practice in the Nottinghamshire area, where she currently assists both Orthodontists and Orthodontic Therapists to treat patients in both NHS and Private orthodontic procedures.
Since then, Lauren has completed the NEBDN certificate in Dental Radiography which she passed in March 2017, and uses regularly in practice taking a variety of different radiographic images.
Lauren then went on to complete the NEBDN certificate in Orthodontic Nursing, passing in September 2018, and the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, as she aspires to help others to achieve their radiography post qualification.
Nathan Morrison (GDC: 137237)
Nathan began his career as a trainee Dental Nurse at the University Dental Hospital of Wales, and successfully acquired his NVQ III in Oral Healthcare and Dental Nursing in 2005. At the same time. he gained a Foundation Certificate in Oral Health Promotion from the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health. Nathan then left for newer pastures as a Lead Dental Nurse in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Here he assists in an extensive range of surgical procedures using local anaesthetic, sedation or general anaesthesia. He has further progressed his career with post registration qualifications: the Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing, Certificate in Dental Radiography and additional skills in Manual Handling Trainer, Intra / Extra Oral Suture Removal, Peripheral Cannulation, Dental Impressions, Dental implants (Nobel Biocare) and he has also achieved his Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing and Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (2019).
Nathan is our tutor on the Dental Sedation programmes and Internal Moderator for the Special Care qualification.
Oral Health Team
Sarah Wadiun (GDC: 200093)
Sarah Wadiun is a qualified dental nurse with an active interest in the dental nurse profession and is the Training Support Manager at Delta Dental Training. She holds NEBDN qualifications in Dental Radiography, Oral Health Education and Dental Sedation Nursing, with additional competency certificates in Fluoride Application and Dental Impression Taking. Sarah completed the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) certificate and is currently working toward the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. She is the lead tutor for the Certificate in Oral Health Education online course. Sarah is also the internal moderator for the Certificate in Dental Radiography and the Course Co-Ordinator for the Extended Duties programmes. She works closely with the course tutors and dental practices to ensure our students complete the practical components of the courses to a high standard.
Sarah Wilson (GDC: 5600)
Sarah commenced her career in dentistry nearly 30 years ago. Her journey began as a trainee Dental Nurse in 1990 progressing to qualified Dental Nurse in 1992. Sarah wanted to develop her skills and career and studied to gain a qualification in Further Education Teaching and Assessing before accepting a role as a Dental Nurse Tutor.
Sarah was accepted onto the Dental Hygienist course at Newcastle Dental Hospital and qualified with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1999 additionally receiving Student of the year and the Principles prize for effort and achievement.
Currently she works as a Dental Hygienist in private practice and enjoys training new staff and organising continuing development training in her local area. She continues to expand her knowledge and also holds certificates in Oral Health Education, Smoking Cessation and Impression Taking.
Her work ethos is to be caring, helpful and treat people how she would like to be treated herself. Sarah is an additional tutor on the Certificate in Oral Health / Fluoride Application and Plaque Scoring courses.
Emma Rawling (GDC: 147462)
Emma gained her NEBDN National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2002, while working in general practice before moving into the community dental service in 2004. After obtaining the Certificate in Oral Health Education in 2006, Emma now provides weekly dental health sessions one on one with child and adult patients within a community dental setting.
Additional to this Emma also holds certificates in Fluoride Application and Plaque Indices and utilises both skills for her own list of patients on a 3 month recall basis.
Emma has recently achieved the Certificate in Dental Radiography and now includes taking radiographs in her weekly sessions as well as oral health education, plaque indices and fluoride application. Many of her patients are children and Emma is the tutor for our new Certificate in Paediatric Dental Nursing programme as well as the lead tutor for the competency courses in Fluoride Application and Plaque Indices. Additionally, Emma is a tutor for the online Certificate in Oral Health Education. She has also completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Training course in 2015.

Claire (Kasbir) Kaur
Claire (Kasbir) Kaur (GDC: 134973)
Claire started dental nursing in 2004 and gained her NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing in 2005. Claire started her career in general practice then transferred to working alongside a Specialist Orthodontist in 2008. Claire has achieved further qualifications in Dental Radiography (2009), Orthodontic Nursing (2010), Impression Taking (2011), Oral Health Education (2018), Fluoride Application (2019) and Plaque Scoring (2019).
In June 2019, Claire moved to work in the Orthodontic and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery departments at the four hospital sites of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust where she works with Consultants and the maxillofacial team specialising in complex orthodontic treatments, surgical procedures and Head and Neck cancers.
Claire has over 15 years’ experience in dental nursing and gained her Fellowship with the BADN in July 2019. Claire is an active member of the dental and orthodontic nursing community, is a member of the Orthodontic National Group and regularly attends the British Orthodontic Conference and National Dental Nursing Conference.
Claire Has recently achieved the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and is the lead tutor for the Minor Oral Surgery (Dental Nursing) course.

Kim Hayes (GDC: 147663)
Kim started work in general practice in 1992 and qualified with NEBDN National Certificate for Dental Nurses in 1997, she then went on to work in an Orthodontic practice where she found her interest in Orthodontics. She obtained her Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing NEBDN in 2005 and included the Impression Taking module.
Kim was employed by a Lancashire Based teaching hospital for 13 years working alongside consultants and clinicians specialising in all areas of Orthodontics and Orthognathics. She holds the NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education along with competencies in Fluoride Application and Plaque Indices.
Kim is currently working for Wrights Dental as the Specialised Orthodontic Customer Service Representative.
Kim completed her Award in Education and Teaching in July 2014 and is the lead tutor for the Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing and Combined Certificate of Competency in Impression Taking courses.
Anna Munro (GDC: 111668)
Anna qualified from Charles Clifford Dental Hospital as a Dental Nurse in 2001. During her career she has worked within a Dental Hospital setting, Community Dental Service and General Practice. Anna currently works in the Orthodontic Department at Southend University Hospital NHS trust and has been a NEBDN examiner since 2012.
Anna holds post qualifications which include Dental Radiography (2008) Oral Health Education (2009) Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing (2014) and Licentiate in Dental Nursing (2012).
Anna completed her Certificate in Education at The University of Essex in 2009 and has joined Delta Dental Training as an additional tutor on our Orthodontic Nursing programme.
Kirsty Rodger (GDC: 224105)
Kirsty started working in general dental practice in 2009 and qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2011 at the Aberdeen Dental Education Centre. After qualifying, Kirsty enrolled in a number of courses to expand her knowledge and duties, including the NEBDN certificate in Oral Health Education, Impression taking and construction of Study models, Fluoride application and Clinical Photography.
After moving from Aberdeenshire to London in 2016 to work in a Multi-disciplinary practice, Kirsty found her love for Orthodontics. After gaining the NEBDN Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing, Kirsty was accepted to Study Orthodontic Therapy at King's College London, and is now working at Orthodontic Gallery in Essex as a Trainee Orthodontic Therapist. She has also completed her Level 3 in Education and Training and joins us as an additional tutor on the Orthodontic Nursing programme.
Special Care Team
Cherry Ali (GDC: 114494)
Cherry Ali qualified as a dental nurse in 1982. Alongside general dental nursing Cherry took an active interest in management and went on to gain the BTEC Professional Certificate in Dental Practice Management in 2004.
In 2002 Cherry joined the staff at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill initially as the Senior Dental Nurse of the Dental Access Centre overseeing the day to day running of the department at East Surrey Hospital and its peripheral clinics at Caterham Dene Hospital, Dorking Hospital and Merstham Clinic. Later on her role developed and she became Senior Special Care Dental Nurse after gaining her Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing in 2008. In 2013 Cherry returned to general practice and took on a supervisory/managerial role, currently working as a practice manager.
Cherry has taken an active part in the training and development of dental nurses and holds the A1 Assessors Certificate and Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) Certificate, and is both an examiner and a committee member for Special Care with the NEBDN. Cherry is the online tutor for the Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing programme.
Melanie Fox (GDC: 238612)
Melanie started her career in dentistry in 1998, working in general practice she gained her NVQ Level 3 in Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing in 2003, she then went on to spend eight successful years working as a multi-site practice manager until she followed her heart back to dental nursing in 2012.
Since returning to the clinical aspect of dentistry she has enjoyed learning new skills including assisting in implant surgery and IV sedation. Melanie gained her NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education and her Qualification in Dental Radiography in 2015 following this with the NEBDN Certificate in Implant Nursing in 2016.
Melanie has huge enthusiasm for all things dental and really enjoys assisting others in developing their knowledge and understanding. She completed her Level 3 Award in Education and Training in 2018 and is the lead tutor for the Certificate in Implant Nursing online course.
Stacy Topping (GDC: 200723)
Stacy achieved her NEBDN National Certificate for Dental Nurses in 2010 and since then has worked in general practice assisting in dental sedation procedures. Stacy qualified with the Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing in 2015 and now works in a dental hospital environment supporting dental students during a wide variety of treatments.
Stacey has achieved her Certificate in Dental Implant Nursing (2017), Certificate of Competency in Impression Taking (2017) and Certificate in Dental Radiography (2018) and is enthusiastic about assisting others in their learning and career progression. She completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and has successfully gone on to achieve the ILM Dental Practice Management Qualification (Level 3) and BDA Oral Health Education certificate. She is also an Examiner for the NEBDN.
Stacy is one of our tutors on the Certificate in Dental Implant Nursing course.
Sharon Williams M.Ed B.Sc (Hons)
Sharon Williams M.Ed B.Sc (Hons) (GDC: 106375)
Sharon Williams is the Sister / Manager of Oral and Facial Surgery for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust. She qualified from Liverpool as a dental nurse in 1978 and has enjoyed all aspects of dental nursing throughout her career. Post qualifications include Dental Anaesthetics, Sedation Nursing (gaining a distinction for this), Radiography, Certificate in Education and Accredited Advanced Life Support. Sharon holds a BSc (Hons) Education and Professional Studies and is due to graduate this year with a Masters degree in the same field. Her main area of expertise is within anaesthetics and sedation working for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust since 1979.
Originally the role was within Community Dental Services followed by Hospital Dental Services. Since 2000 her role has become an extended role involving all aspects of management of patients undergoing Oral and Facial surgery with general anaesthetic or intravenous sedation. This has included the setting up of a nurse led pre-operative assessment service and a lead role with the management of the departments sedation service. She also has a tutor role, training hospital dental nurses towards the NEBDN National Diploma Qualification, along with an in house training programme for the registered dental nurses the Trust employs.
Sharon is our industry expert for the sedation programmes.
Sandra Cooper (GDC: 107943)
Sandra Cooper qualified as a dental nurse in 1991 and has since enjoyed a successful and rewarding career centred on practice management and patient orientated healthcare provision. She obtained the Certificate in Oral Health Education and provides regular oral health sessions for patients at the dental practice. Sandra also holds a Certificate in Dental Radiography, and competency certificates in Fluoride Application, Plaque Indices, and Dental Impression Taking. Sandra is the internal moderator for the competency certificates in Fluoride Application and Plaque Indices and is the Lead Invigilator for our exam centre, organising and running the NEBDN examinations.
Sandra has extensive experience in all aspects of dental practice management including business, finance and legislation, and is relentless in keeping up to date with changes in the dental service industry. She is very well placed to contribute to our courses on aspects involving legislation and working practices. She has also completed the First Steps: Teaching and Learning in Higher Education programme.
Emma Brearley (GDC: 124015)
Emma is an Orthodontic Therapist (2011) currently working in practice. She started work as a dental nurse in general practice in 2001 and went on to achieve the National Qualification for Dental Nurses in 2004. She qualified in Dental Radiography (Salford University) in 2006.
In 2007 her role as a dental nurse expanded to include working as an orthodontic nurse where her interest in orthodontics began. She qualified as an Orthodontic Therapist in 2011 and has been working full time in ever since.
Emma holds competency certificates in Fluoride Application and Plaque Indices gained with Delta Dental and gained her Level 3 Award in Education and Training in 2016.
Emma is the internal moderator for the Orthodontic Nursing programmes.
